Following REDAA's recent grant call announcement, we are hosting a webinar that will provide an opportunity to learn more about our latest grant call aimed at scaling up locally-led restoration, and ensure you are well-prepared to put in a successful application.

The online event will take place on Thursday 23 May 2024 at 9:00 (BST). During the one-hour webinar, the REDAA team will discuss the kind of research-to-action initiatives the programme will be funding, the eligible organisations, and the application process.

REDAA recently published three scoping studies conducted by the United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources Africa and ICLEI Africa. These studies propose potential priorities for the REDAA programme in West, Central, Eastern and Southern Africa.

To explore the findings REDAA also held an online workshop with experts from across the region. Insights from this workshop will be published in the coming weeks.

This work builds on previous scoping work for sub-Saharan Africa and will enrich the REDAA Strategy and upcoming grant calls.

The International Water Management Institute (IWMI) has been selected to carry out a distinct project on wetland ecosystem modelling and economic valuation in the Kalu Oya Basin, Sri Lanka. This follows a joint open call from The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Ogata Research Institute and REDAA in July 2023.

The project, which runs for one year, will focus on better understanding and communicating the current and future value of ecosystem services in the Kalu Oya wetlands in a changing climate.
